Awka Power challenges being addressed - Obi Nwankwo

The Anambra state Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Obi Nwankwo, has assured residents of Awka that power supply will be restored to the town within days.
He said that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) was working hard to rectify the problems with the Agu-Awka mobile sub-station which partially blew up.
Mr Nwankwo who spoke to ABS M.D Uche Nworah thanked the residents for their patience and understanding while the power outage lasted. He also dispelled rumours that electricity meant for Awka residents was being diverted to Aguleri.
"There is no iota of truth in such wickedly and malicious rumours. It is the handiwork of mischief makers who are always eager to politicise everything, casting aspersions to score cheap political points. We are dealing with technical and equipment damage here. If you understand the way power distribution works, you will see that doing such is not possible", Mr Nwankwo concluded.
