Obiano to be Awarded with "Sun Gov of the Year"




History will be made this Saturday as Chief Willie Obiano, will be conferred with the Sun Governor of the year Award in Lagos.
The Managing Director and Editor in-Chief of the Sun Newspapers Mr Eric Osagie while presenting the invitation of the Award to Governor Obiano, at the Governors Lodge Amawbia, said the honour is in recognition of his numerous developmental accomplishments in Anambra State, especially in poverty reduction.
In view of this, some prominent citizens of the state have been reacting positively to the issue.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka, a Lagos based industrialist, Chief Godwin Okafor said Governor Obiano has through effective security network restored investors confidence to the state.


According to Chief Okafor who is also a Community leader in Isuofia Aguata Local Government Area, Governor Obiano needs to be commended for being consistent with payment of workers’ salaries and embarking on other projects despite the dwindling federal allocation.
Chief Okafor who described Governor Obiano as a prudent manager of both human and material resources, affirmed that the Sun Governor of the year Award on him is worthwhile.
A community leader in Awa, Orumba North Local Government Area, Chief Ambrose Egwuonwu described the Award as well deserved in view of the numerous achievements of Governor Willie Obiano, in the State.
 Chief Egwuonwu, who is an APGA Chieftain, recalled that Governor Obiano has achieved a lot in less than two years.
