Obiano conferred with an award as Grand pillar JDPC Awka diocese

Governor Obiano was today conferred with an award as the Grand pillar JDPC Awka diocese .

Similarly, the wife of the governor chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano has also been conferred the mother of charity JDPC Awka diocese.

The award was conferred on them by the bishop of Awka catholic diocese most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor during the inauguration of 2016 JDPC week at st Patrick’s cathedral Awka.

Ngozi Obileri reports that Bishop Ezeokafor said it was in recognition of their contributions to improving the lives of the poorest of the poor in the state and for numerous developmental strides this administration is taking to better the lots of Ndi Anambra.

Bishop Ezeokafor whose homily centered on the gospel of St Luke which centered on the prodigal son , urged Christians to avail themselves of the second chance provided for them through Christ to return to God and to always show mercy and pity for others.

On the resent invitation of chief Victor Umeh by the Department of State security, the bishop said the issue of national growth demands contributions from every Nigerian, wondering why infringement on human rights should be tampered in any manner.

Receiving the award, Governor Obiano expressed joy for the honour and said it will spur them to do more for ndi Anambra.

Governor Obiano used the medium to remind ndi Anambra that the easiest way to make money is in agriculture.

Governor Obiano explained that the state now has a brand in exportation of pumpkin and bitter leaf saying that Anambra will start exportation of rice in no distant time.
The governor equally advised the people to earn money as fast as possibble through exportation of vegetable from Anambra as vegetables from the state are adudged the best in the whole of Europe .

Speaking shortly before the conferment of the award on the governor and his wife, the Director JDPC Awka diocese Rev Fr Simon Anigbogu said the award was well deserved making special reference to the adequate security instituted by the governor making Anambra the safest State in Nigeria.

Rev Fr Anigbogu also extolled the governor's wife for her special programes for the less privileged requesting for partnership with her foundation to enable work together to ensure that the poor in the society are properly taken care of.

Over twenty stakeholders comprising government functionaries were equally given merit awards on the occasion .
