Anglican Church will continue to Support Obiano - Bishop Efobi

The Dean of the Anglican Church of Nigeria and Bishop of Aguata Diocese, The Most Revd Efobi has declared that the Anglican Church would continue to support Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State describing him as the people's governor.

Bishop Efobi made the declaration at the 2nd Session of the 4th SYNOD of the Diocese of Aguata held at Immanuel Anglican Church, Ezinifite in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The Bishop who described Ezinifite as a town known for peaceful and fruitful coexistence gave a detailed history of evangelism in the town and around Aguata Diocese and went further to thank Gov Obiano for his presence and "the love you have for the Church of God". "I have never seen a governor like you... we in the Anglican Church will continue to support you"

Bishop Efobi prayed God to grant Obiano more Grace to complete the transformation he started in Anambra State noting that within 2 years of excellent leadership "Awka now wears the true face of a State Capital and the 4 pillars of Obiano's administration; Agriculture, Industrialization, Trade & Commerce and Oil & Gas; are judiciously being pursued by the people's governor."

Addressing the gathering, Governor Obiano thanked the church for their prayers and assured Ndi Anambra of more democracy dividends from the State Government.

Obiano also explained the giant strides of his administration in the area of education ranging from facilities upgrade; welfare of the students and capacity building of the teachers.

Today, Anambra pupils and students are first in national and regional examinations, local and international debates and other competitions; teachers are paid as at when due and those in the rural areas are paid higher as well as teachers teaching the core subjects.

Present at the SYNOD were political appointees and the Transition Chairman of Aguata Local Government, Hon Andy Umeoji; Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, Member of APGA Board of Trustees; the clergy, traditional rulers and major stakeholders within Aguata Diocese.
