Flash : Nnewi Goes Live in the 2nd Phase of Obiano's Light Up Anambra Project. - 16.05.16

Former Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virgy Etiaba had the honour of switching on the 4km long Street Light project few moments ago in Otolo Nnewi.

Gov Obiano used the opportunity to announce that the second Street Light Project in Nnewi will cover 10Km just as Anambra State Government is making tremendous effort to ensure that the industrial hub of West Africa gets all kinds of power it requires bother captive power and otherwise.

Hon. Commissioner for Public Utilities, Hon. Obi Okonkwo, addressing the press after Her Excellency, Dame Virgy Etiaba had switched on the street lights, at Nnewi.

The governor's Light Up Anambra Project is aimed at providing street lights on all the major streets and roads in the State with special attention to all the junctions, squares, markets and play grounds as well as places with viable night ventures.

Aside the aesthetics values of street lighting, the Light Up Project enhances security of lives and property; encourages more entrepreneurs; creates more jobs and provides more working hours.

Ultimately, a well lit society enjoys more life span.

Already lit areas include: Agu Awka to Eke Awka; Awka to Enugwu-Ukwu; major streets within Awka; Arroma Flyover; Amawbia Flyover, etc.

The truth is that there was immediate jubilation all over the places as the light shines so bright and illuminated the entire long stretch of road. Criminals will not have the capacity to operate as everywhere is illuminated. Businesses will stay open longer because customers feel safer within their environments. Profits made by local road side businesses will be increased tremendously due to this visionary transformation by the only Hard Worker in Nigeria, Dr. Willie M Obiano.
