Sport Minister Dalung Praises Anambra, Switches on Amawbia Fly-over Light

The Minster of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung yesterday night at Amawbia Anambra State applauded Anambra State under Obiano as a shining example of a result-oriented administration that should be emulated by others.

The Minister stated this while performing the symbolic “switching-on” of the Amawbia Fly-over profile lighting in the state capital.

Barrister Dalung who was on a one-day working visit to the state, and was given the courtesy of performing the Switch-on by the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, stated, “what is going on in Anambra state is a practical development which should be emulated by others. Let there be Light in Anambra.”

Earlier, Governor Obiano who witnessed the brief ceremony along with other dignitaries explained that three Fly-over projects were part of the administration's efforts to build a network of first class infrastructure in the Awka Capital Territory. He noted that aside its aesthetic value, the light will also boost nightlife in the surroundings of Amawbia and the city.


According to him, the planting of palm trees and other beautification have commenced along the mid-section of the bridges, while the AKwata Flyover profile light would be completed by end of this month. The Governor restated his commitment towards the continued infrastructural development of the state, stressing that when completed the Flyovers would be comparable to what obtains in other developed cities of the world.

Expressing the joy and appreciation of the people of Amawbia for developments sited in the community, Hon Ezekiel Nwokoye said that the lighting project would give impetus to the Governor's security initiative along the Amawbia junction axis and thanked the Governor for remaining true to his promise to complete the project in a record time.

The Flyover light switch-on was witnessed by Amawbia indigenes and residents and many dignitaries including the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye, Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Chief Sir Victor Umeh, Chairman/CEO of Innoson Group, Chief Innocen Chukwuma, amongst others who expressed joy at the positive development.
