Obiano enjoins Anambra, SouthEast to Forge United Front.

Governor Willie Obiano says Anambra State and indeed, the SouthEast zone with their abundant human resources, can achieve more if the people are united.

Governor Obiano was speaking at the eighty-fifth Birthday Celebration of Professor Ben Nwabueze held at his Country home, Atani, in Ogbaru Council Area.
The Ceremony witnessed the presentation of a book written by the Celebrant titled "the National Question and Corruption as Nigeria's two most challenging and overriding problems". Dignitaries, including
the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, former Chief of General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, former Governor Peter Obi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, General Ike Nwachukwu, a Business Mogul, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu graced the occasion.

Governor Obiano who conveyed the compliments of his government and Ndi Anambra to the celebrant , said the state is in need of Sages like him who have not abandoned the people's core cultural norms and virtues while living actively with the demands of modernity.

The Governor prayed God for more fruitful years of sound health on the celebrant as he continues his matchless contributions to the growth of the state.

Chairman on the Occasion and Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Onu, while commending the key role played by the celebrant in shaping the Igbo agenda, advocated the naming of a government institution after him while he is still alive as a way of immortalizing him and encouraging the younger generation to embrace positive living.

In their separate goodwill messages, former Chief of General Staff, Commodore Ukiwe and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, General Nwachukwu hailed the contributions of Professor Nwabueze towards the development of Politics and the Legal profession in the Country, noting that his personality presents an ideal role model for the youths not only in the area of academic excellence but also in character.
For the Member representing Ogbaru Two Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Sir Somto Udeze, what is most exemplary about the Celebrant is his consistent and firm stand on the side of truth and justice despite confrontation.

Cutting of the Birthday cake by the Celebrant as well as unveiling of the Book by the Governor formed the highpoint of the event.
