State govt explores international partnerships to better the life of Ndi Anambra


Governor Willie Obiano says his administration will continue to explore partnership with international agencies to secure a better lease of life for Ndi Anambra. ...
Governor Obiano disclosed this after he met with the Head of the Country Office of United Nations Institute of Training and Research, Mr Lawrence Boms, at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia.
Governor Obiano explained that discussions during the meeting centered on how the UN Agency will assist the State in training and empowering youths in the area of emergency response activities.

According to him, the Agency also, during the meeting, expressed their willingness to assist the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, in providing facilities that will enhance its operations.
The Governor expressed optimism that with the level of transparency that his government has entrenched in the state governance, the Agency will be encouraged to do business with the State.
The UNITAR Country Head, Mr Boms who revealed that the Agency has been monitoring the Governor's track record of achievements in the area of security and provision of social services, commended the Governor for his huge investments in the sector.
He explained that the visit was to explore ways the Agency can partner the State to achieve the best it can in its security initiative.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, the Special Adviser(now commissioner),to the governor on Economic Planning , Mr Mark Okoye, and the Chairman, SEMA, Mr Paul Odenigbo among others.
