If the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano was ever in doubt about his popularity in Nigeria, those doubts were put to rest at the ceremonies marking the 22nd edition of the prestigious Zik Prize for Leadership that took place at the Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos at the weekend.

Obiano who clinched the Good Governance category of the Prize along with the governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun was simply the cynosure of all eyes as he towered above most of the honourees at the event.

The event which attracted Nigeria’s best and brightest marked a watershed in Governor Obiano’s political career being perhaps the only governor to have been adjudged worthy of the prestigious prize after just two years in office.

The ceremony offered Ndi Anambra and other Nigerians who felt strongly impressed with Obiano’s sterling performance a chance to show their support to the erstwhile banker as they turned out in their numbers to felicitate with him.
