Plans Intensify To Hold A World Class Trade Fair In Anambra


The State Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta has urged the committee members of the proposed Anambra 2016 trade fair to ensure that it is a huge success.


Ogbuefi Nnachetta stated this when the committee members of the trade fair paid him a courtesy call in his office in Awka.

Addressing the visitors, Ogbuefi Nnachetta who disclosed that he was part of the team that organized the first Nigeria and South Africa business summit in 2002 made it clear that trade fair holds huge potentials and prospects for the state and country and commended them for intimating his ministry about the gigantic project.

The Commissioner further charged the members to make decisions that will bring at least ten percent of Ndi Anambra’s investment outside back to the state as Governor Willie Obiano has created an enabling environment for business and other commercial activities to thrive in the state.

Earlier, the president Awka Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (AWKACCIMA) Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu said that they have unified the three chambers of commerce in the state which is Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi into one to stage a world class trade fair that slated to hold from the twenty fifth of November to ninth December 2016.

Also speaking the chairman of the planning committee Mr. Sunny Nwachukwu explained that ministry of information and communication strategy is key to making the trade fair a world class event and disclosed that participant will come within the country, African, Asia, Europe and America.

The trade fair is named Jubilee fair in commemoration of the twenty fifth year’s anniversary of the state.

Presentation of prospectus, fliers to the commissioner by the members, as well as unveiling of the trade fair roll up banner were the highlights on the occasion.
