Gov Obiano To See Abia Gov Over Expulsion Of Anambra Indigenes

Gov Willie Obiano has promised to intervene in the case of Anambra indigenes who were unjustly disengaged from the Abia state Civil Service.

The Governor made the promise when he received some members of the Association of Anambra State Development Unions, Aba in Abia State at the governor's Lodge, Amawbia.
He noted that the welfare of Ndi Anambra everywhere remains a top priority for his administration, and pointed out that it is unlawful and unfair to throw out Anambra state indigenes for no reason from any civil service in the country more so when the state in question is in the same South East zone.
Querying the rationale behind the action by the former governor of the state, Dr Theodore Orji, Gov Obiano said he will liaise with the incumbent governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu to see how they could be reabsorbed into the Abia State Civil Service.
He commended the Association for what it is doing in galvanising Ndi Anambra in Abia State towards supporting the ongoing transformation in their home state and assured that his government will assist them to do more.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Communication's Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta acknowledged that Ndi Anambra all over the world were beginning to heed the call to join hands with government to build a prosperous Anambra State. He said the visit by the Association was another milestone in the present administration's efforts to garner the necessary clout for the task ahead.
President General of the Association, Dr Simon Okolo, in his address lauded the policies and programmes of the state administration that have impacted positively on the lives of the people and sought the state government's assistance towards the activities of the association especially their upcoming Anambra Day Celebration.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman, Advisory Board of the association, Chief Anthony Enukeme noted that as Ndi Anambra living in Aba, they are now proud to rear their heads up due to the exemplary performance of the State Government and urged Governor Obiano not to relent in his commitment to make Anambra a role model state in the country.
