Gov Obiano Emerges Anambra North People's Assembly Candidate For 2017 Governorship Election

Anambra North People’s Assembly has adopted Governor Willie Obiano as their sole candidate for the forthcoming November eighteenth gubernatorial election in the state.

Sponsoring a motion to that effect,  a political stalwart in the area, Chief Mike Areh said that due to monumental achievements recorded so far by the  Governor, he should be allowed to complete his second term.
The motion was seconded by the member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Mr Obinna Emenaka.

It would be recalled that Anambra North Peoples Assembly in their last meeting constituted a Committee headed by a former Minister of Health, Dr Tim Menakaya, with the mandate to select a suitable candidate from all the political parties with the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

After a thorough screening of all the contestants in the Anambra North senatorial District, Governor Willie Obiano, was found eligible to pilot the affairs of the state for the next four years.

All the seven Local Government Areas in the Anambra North Senatorial District, were represented, with all the elected officers in the Anambra North Senatorial District present, among whom were a member of the House of Representatives, Mr Gabriel Onyenweife and all members of the State House of Assembly from the district and a former Senator, Chief Emma Anosike.
