Work On St Stephens Trans Nkisi To Be Completed In 2 Weeks


The ongoing construction work on Saint Stephen’s Trans-Nkisi, Federal Housing Estate road, Onitsha, will be completed within two weeks.
The contractor handling the project, Mr Tony Madi, disclosed this when Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on works, inspected the road project, as part of their oversight responsibilities.
Conducting the committee round the project site, Mr Madi, explained that the six hundred meter road with eleven metres width, will be completed on scheduled as the state government has fulfilled its own part of the agreement reached with them.
Mr Madi, told the committee that they have completed both the concrete and the earth work, paving way for the stone base, after which asphalting will commence.  
The Chairman House Committee on works, Dr Ikechukwu Umeh, said that the road is very strategic to the state as it will enhance socio economic activities in Onitsha and environs on completion.
The Committee also inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of Ose-okwodu Market road, where they urged those who dump refuse inside drainages, to desist from such to ensure the durability of the road.             
The contractor handling the project, Mr Chuka Anyaegbunam, informed the committee that the seventy two million naira project, with five hundred metres is eighty per cent completed, assuring that the road project will be completed within one month.
